DMM iD Industry Award winner

At the recent OutDoor 2017 trade show in Friedrichshafen, DMM iD was judged to deserve an Industry Award in the ‘Concepts and Services’ category. During a two-day panel discussion, the OutDoor appointed judges agreed on 38 award-winning new products - across all the categories - out of 330 entries, which they felt “have the potential to set new benchmarks for design and innovation in the outdoor industry”.

Commenting on DMM iD the jury statement said: “By introducing radio frequency identification (RFID) technology into connectors and climbing products such as ropes and harnesses, DMM is making Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) easier to manage, inspect and audit safely with a RFID system. We see this as an important advance in safety management.”

It was judged to be outstanding according to the following evaluation criteria:

  • Degree of innovation
  • Functionality
  • Added value

DMM iD heralds the start of a revolution in personal protective equipment (PPE) inspection and inventory management. In a world first, DMM have integrated RFID technology into connectors (patent pending), giving them indelible serial numbers with no compromise in strength or ergonomics. Along with incorporating this technology into other hard to mark PPE products (ropes, harnesses, devices, slings), plus offering retrofit iD tags, DMM iD is a complete PPE solution.
